Gallery Of Creative Juices
I am constantly amazed by people. We very often run into creative walls and convince ourselves that we’ll never come up with something new or original.
Picture this: It’s 3am and you are staring at a blank canvas, telling yourself that you are a dismal failure and have finally run out of ideas. Somehow inspiration strikes, or after enough procrastination something appears on the page that isn’t a total disaster and once again you breath a sigh of relief– you can go on fooling people just a little while longer .
Most artists go through phases of self-doubt, some more often than others. One thing I’ve learnt over time is that it helps to have good technique and training to fall back on for when the creative juices just aren’t flowing.
Going back to why I am so impressed by people- on rare occasions we manage to smash through walls and come up with ideas that make others stop and say “WOW!”. Sometimes we even astonish ourselves when we push past our limitations and achieve more than we thought we were capable of. So the next time you are going through a creative dry spell, remember that it’s just a bump in the road, and you will get past it.
Today’s “WOW” moment was inspired by artist . Reis has an ongoing project called . Every day she posts pictures of her stunning hand-painted petri dishes which resemble live bacteria samples. The colors and textures are so vibrant and realistic that it’s hard to believe they are not actual photographs of bacteria. No two look alike, which is even more mind-boggling as to how she comes up with so many variations.
