Handprint doodle art is a fun and relaxing art activity for all ages. If you have sharpie markers and construction paper then that’s pretty much all you need to get started.

I have always loved doodling and patterning for some reason. When I was studying art in high school I painted patterns in bright colours and fine details for my year 12 major artwork . At the time I wouldn’t have been able to tell you the reason I chose this form of creativity but in hindsight it was a good way to tune out and destress from the overload of exams and other life pressures. Patterning is very soothing and you don’t need to think at all while you’re drawing. By the way the artwork above is not my best work! It’s just a quick rendition to show you a general idea that anybody can do.

With the crafts shared here on this website I’m hoping to give other parents and carers inspiration to get crafty with their kids at home – make our projects, or use them as a source of inspiration to spark ideas of your own.
