Very Easy Knit Baby Booties Knitting Pattern- these stay-on booties make a great gift!

Hand knit baby booties are a thoughtful gift, but if you’re beginner knitter they can be tricky to make. These Very Easy Knit Baby Booties are the perfect knitting pattern for beginners! Most baby bootie knitting patterns require double pointed needles and have heel shaping. These are knit flat and shaped through some well-placed decreases. The foldover shape in the front helps keep the booties on tiny feet. Best of all, they only take about 30 minutes to make!

Footbed measures 2 3/4 inches long

Cast on 26 stitches. Work in Garter Stitch for 10 rows.

Bind off 10 stitches at the beginning of the next row. Finish row.

Bind off 10 stitches at the beginning of the next row- this leaves you with 6 stitches in the middle. Garter Stitch remaining stitches for 20 rows. Bind off.

Here is the finished piece. It looks like the letter “T”. The upper part will become the back and side of the bootie. The thinner, bottom part will be the footbed

Take one side of the upper part of the “T” and place it on top of the footbed

These are just what I was looking for with a medium weight yarn. Thank you so very very much! Going to try to make them just a bit larger for a 6 month size for a wee bit larger baby. If you have any suggestions for this not so mathematical genius, it is always appreciated… But either way I am so grateful for every thing you have already done. If its ok with you, would like to make some for charity also for a local group that collects much needed baby items. These will be quick and oh so darling! Size for them is anything goes! Hope you are and baby are well. A great big Thank you again… Kate K.

Try using larger needles – same wool will give a different size.

Just love the look of these….any tips on how one would up-size for toddlers ?

I like these so much, I would like to make some for me as well as other adults. Have you made them for adults? If so, can you share details, etc.

If u can make them bigger Plz give stitches for 9 months, etc. I would sure love to make them

So easy to make. Very cute but come up very small.

I've knitted the t piece, but am having a really hard time finishing this piece. Do you stack the bigger pieces next to each other and sew on top of the shorter ? And sew the right and left sides together? It seems simple but I've tried every combination I can think of. Can someone help explain the last sewing step? Or even post some pictures? Thanks!!

Hi Laura- Fold one of the bigger pieces over on to the footbed. Sew down along the side. Then, fold the other side over and sew along the side. Finally, sew the toe seam. The toe seam will sew through 3 layers- the footbed, and the 2 sides. Hope this helps!

I am going to try to size it up a bit to fit a toddler

I adore these booties!! I actually crocheted them using your pattern and they are the first booties that came out perfect for me!! Thank You for sharing your pattern!!

Is the bottom of the T, the foot part, suppose to be as big as halv the top of the t? I am trying to follow the instructions while crocheting, but when finishing 20 rows, the foot sole was very long compared to the side that is folding over. Maybe I have 2 count different with crocheting when it comes 2 counting rows.

Gina, these are adorable!! Do you have an adult pattern available?

I had to adjust the pattern to lighter wool and a 4 needle but they came out so great! I made a pink pair for friends who just had a baby girl, and I made some orange ones for my grandma's favorite doll. I love it!

My patternis: 40 stitches for 12 rows, cast off 15 knit 10 cast off the other 15. Than knit the 10 stitches for 20 rows. ????

Hi these numbers are they for double knit. I've got some chenille wool too would this be too thick.
